About Me

I specialise in tree reports to enable clients to gain the planning permission they require through addressing the requirements of BS5837, Local Plans and Policies with quality tree surveys, reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA), Method Statements, Tree Protection Plans (TPP) and Site Supervision. My vision is to promote the value and benefits of trees, whilst embracing new technology, techniques and practices.

I am able to assist you to prevent costly delays stop notices and unnecessary conditions on planning permissions and development projects. I also can prevent unforeseen delays in property purchase completion where trees are involved. I can provide tree inspections that will address your requirements for duty of care and give you a legally defensible position.

We listen to our clients’ aims, goals and objectives and advice the best way to proceed in each individual case. We keep up to date with the latest design ideas, technology and policy decisions, enabling clients to achieve their desired outcome as best possible. I set up the Digital Arboricultural Practice group to promote BIM and digital practice within arboriculture.

Tree reports to support a planning application should follow the requirements of BS5837 with regards to construction to obtain the best possible comparison between good quality existing trees and a new development.

I provide accurate and robust reports, as they may need to be defended under cross-examination at Appeal or at a Public Local Inquiry. The process begin with a tree survey, followed by a constraints plan, an assessment of proposed scheme with a supporting Arboricultural Method Statement and Tree Protection Plan which details how trees will remain safe and protected throughout the development.
